Evaluations

“Even the most challenging puzzles have a solution.”

Neuropsychological Evaluations

A neuropsychological evaluation is an assessment of how your brain is functioning. Tests evaluate your abilities in a number of areas including, intelligence, executive skills, attention, memory, language, sensorimotor functions, motivation, mood, quality of life, and personality.

Results from testing can help determine the causes of any problems you may be having and to allow for targeted treatment interventions.

Psychological Evaluations

A psychological evaluation helps to assess your cognitive and emotional functioning by using verbal, visual, or written evaluations. This type of assessment helps determine the nature and extent of any mental illness you may be having in order to help you better understand and manage any symptoms impacting your life. Much like a medical test, a psychological evaluation is designed to help understand the cause of any problems and formulate an effective treatment plan.

The evaluation looks at thinking, reasoning, and cognitive function. The psychologist will also note your mood, behaviors, daily functioning, and social interactions. Since mental health issues are often complex, psychological testing has a variety of methods and may involve formal questionnaires, checklists, surveys, interviews, and observations.

High Stakes Testing For Accommodations

A high stakes evaluation determines if a client is experiencing a disability or condition that is negatively impacting the ability to learn or perform. High stakes evaluations are also administered to identify possible school and work accommodations that will help to improve performance, efficiency, and success.

This form of evaluation typically measures emotional and behavioral functioning and their impact on academic or work performance. High stakes evaluations are provided for clients ages 18 or older.
